Bismillah-hir-Rahman-nir-Raheem.

My Amazing Umrah,
ma sha Allah!

Alhamdolillah. All praise is for Allah, Who permitted His slave to travel across the earth, Who provided for him who had no means and no power of his own. May He Forgive the mistakes of His slave and reduce the harm of them. And may He be pleased with His slave, and increase the good of his good deeds. Ameen.

monday 1:30 pm Israeli border crossing

the kindness of Abdur Rahman. Abdur Rahman is a young palestinian from Jenin who walked up to me and struck up a conversation about america and palestine.

alhamdolillah, on his own he brought me a great strawberry+banana juice drink, and he shared/distributed his can of pringles chips to me and all the people nearby.

very kind, may Allah subhanahu wata ala bless him, and watch over him.

he told me that Jenin is a city with over 800,000 residents, alhamdolillah. i had no idea.

among the people who, like me, were left on this side of the border last night when it closed at 7 pm, many returned today. some of them have crossed, albeit after several more hours wait.

but the group of four british Muslims were amongst them, alhamdolillah.

also waiting with me now are two dutchmen and a japanese woman. the dutch visited syria before coming here, and that has probably caused their delay, but wAllahHoAlim.

2:05 pm Israeli border crossing

they just took Abdur Rahman through, but they are taking him to be held/questioned by Israeli police.

sure, i just met the kid. but he just finished high school, and is still waiting for his grades. he was visiting his grandmother in amman.

but he's a young man, traveling alone -- just trying to get home. he was not afraid, though, and people around me told me that this is so common -- detaining palestinians for as long as they wish and as often as they wish -- that no one here is fazed by the sight of it.

i pray he gets home safely, inshaAllah.
